Very Successful Fundraiser
April 2012. Flinders District Lions Club were delighted with the result of their 24th Annual Golf Day held recently at Flinders.
One hundred and twenty golfers participated on a great Autumn day and the event raised some $13,500, which the club will distribute to local charities and community organisations.
The Auction conducted by Paul Armstrong created some lively bidding and raised over $2,000.
Club President, Keith Hando, said the support from community sponsors along with that of Gary Sandford of the Rye and Dromana Community Bank, was again most appreciated.
This event over the past 8 years has raised over $75,000. The club is looking forward to their 25th such event next March.

FLINDERS DISTRICT LIONS CLUB.
Flinders Lions recently conducted their 21st Charity Golf Day which was generously sponsored by Rye/Dromana Community Bank, Flinders Golf Club and a large number of local business groups. One hundred and twenty player "hit off" and the day raised over $14,000 which will be distributed to local charities and community groups. Highlight of the day was an auction conducted by Paul Armstrong of Kay and Burton with all proceeds being donated to our local Flinders C.F.A This raised $2,400 .
The Lions Club in addition had already donated $10,700 to support bush fire victims and fencing repair.
