For more than eighty years the summer Fete at St John’s in Flinders has flourished and grown. People come from far and wide to enjoy the fun and games, teas and scones, children’s rides,
the hotly contested pet show and – most of all – the wonderful assortment of stalls. Not this summer though. COVID restrictions made that impossible; but all is not lost. The Fete has gone online.
Beautiful artworks generously given by local artists are on view in the Op Shop windows in Cook Street. Link to the pictures currently for sale via the Fete website: stjohnsflindersfete.com.au.
The funds raised do not just help the church but benefit in those in need in the local community. The Op Shop is closed until restrictions are lifted further.
On the Fete website you can order Christmas goodies for collection on 24 December. Jams, marmalades, pickles and chutneys, home-made cakes and biscuits, posies and fresh produce from local gardens are available for collection on 23 January. The sale of these items helps the struggling finances of the church and its charities.
