The Fire Danger Period started today, December 9th, so no more burning off without a written permit, and extreme care needs to be taken when using machinery in the open. You should also now review your Fire Plan with your family and neighbours.
The local brigade will hold a community briefing on the 29th to help everyone prepare for the highest risk period for our area, which is generally after Christmas. On the 29th, come and visit the Flinders fire station. There will be safety information for this fire season, recruitment information and a free sausage sizzle.
