Flinders Pier Update!
Our local Councillor, David Gill has followed-up progress on the planned repairs and restoration of Flinders Pier. In summary, Parks Victoria has reviewed its project plan to incorporate the requirements of the Heritage Act and is now:
• Preparing repair-design options that improve the pier’s condition while meeting heritage requirements; and
• Revising the Conservation Management Plan with Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
Parks Victoria is still advising that the scope for repairs will be finalised by Mid 2023, which will follow with Contractor procurement during Spring; construction commencement in late 2023; and completed repairs by early 2024.
