The Lions Club of Flinders District (Flinders Lions) fundraising strategy for 2025-26 reflects the Australian Lions Wellbeing Foundation’s Nationwide campaign, focused on the Lions International Service Initiative: Mental Health and Wellbeing.
It also accords with Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-29; the aim of which is to set Council’s strategic direction for protecting and promoting the health and wellbeing of the community.
As October is National Mental Health Month, a Community Forum is to be held on Friday October 31 at 5:00 pm in the Flinders Community Hall to help create awareness, assist with education and advocacy for wellbeing and community health, and in doing so reinforce to our community that Lions care.
Funds raised from this event will be directed to various local school-based projects with the aim to:
support those children and young people who are highly disengaged and marginalised through complicated family circumstances to remain at school and return to mainstream programs.
assist with the provision of pathways to re-engage young people from learning through structured Outreach programs.
support services for students and families, as well as for the schools themselves, to help relieve the significant wellbeing and mental health challenges some families are facing.
