A huge thank you to the 150 wonderful people — and their four-legged friends — who joined us on a beautiful sunny morning for our ‘Shout Out for the Heritage-listed Flinders Pier’. We were delighted to be joined by Mornington Peninsula Shire Council Mayor Stephen Batty, Councillor Gill and local Member Anthony Marsh, along with passionate community members, clubs and recreational groups from across the Peninsula. This support means so much as we continue our call to the State Government to FINISH THE JOB and complete the restoration of our much-loved Pier. After some short speeches, the crowd walked out along the Pier to see for themselves the stark reminder of the Government’s promise last November — the “Minister’s Piles”, all that currently remains of the commitment to restore the Pier.
Thank you to everyone who stood with us today. Your voices, your energy and your determination show just how much Flinders Pier means to our community. Together, we can keep the pressure on and Save Flinders Pier!
