Died 31 October 2023
Many people in Flinders are mourning the death of John Plant – character and huge contributor to the Flinders community.
John was a member of the Flinders Community Association (FCA) for many years and a valued member of the Executive, particularly as Treasurer, at critical times in the FCA history. John played a big part in the drawing up of workable Rules for the FCA. His inputs to discussions about FCA policy on many matters was considered and valuable. On several occasions John applied his diplomatic skills during neighbourhood disagreements.
John was also something of a bon vivant and many enjoyed a glass or two of a drinkable red with him. One didn’t always agree with every one of his thoughts in a political sense, but it was always fun engaging in banter and he made some of his more outrageous assertions with a twinkle in the eye.
Farewell, John, and thank you
Peter Monie
Former FCA President
