Jo Monie, wearing both her FCA and Flinders District Historical Society hats was pleased to meet with Chris Brayne at the Cargo Shed and Pier last week. She explained to him the significance of the Cargo Shed and how it shared its historical value with the Pier. He reiterated his support for the campaign and possible willingness to help once we know of the outcome from the Heritage Victoria application. She said “Our submission to Heritage Victoria outlines the aesthetic and historical significance of the whole pier precinct, not to mention its scientific importance as the habitat of a distinct local species of the Weedy Sea Dragon. Fingers crossed for a positive result.”
