On Thursday 14 November, Flinders will host the first day of this year’s Targa Florio Australian Tribute. Beginning in Torquay, the cars will arrive in Flinders during Thursday afternoon, proceeding slowly down Cook Street in a controlled time trial. Drivers will then spend their first night in Flinders, before continuing their rally the next day. The Targa Florio originated as a car race in Italy more than 100 years ago, and this year’s 4 day event through Victoria’s West Coast, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley is a tribute to the legendary cars that participated in the original race.
