Mornington Peninsula Shire has appointed consultants to develop its Coastal Villages and Neighbourhood Character Strategy (Western Port Townships).
The strategy will determine future development in Flinders and other Western Port villages. In particular, it is intended to protect our village character in response to pressures for change, including population growth and the impact of climate change.
Council has asked for community input via a “Have Your Say” survey which is accessible on the MPS website:
https://www.mornpen.vic.gov.au/About-Us/Have-your-say/Have-Your-Say-Coastal-Villages-and-Neighbourhood-Character-Strategy
You can outline what you like or dislike about Flinders – what makes it unique, what landmarks you like, what you like about the village character, the beach/foreshore, etc. You will also be asked about your specific concerns regarding climate change.
The deadline for your response is Sunday 16 December. You can respond on-line or via e-mail or the post.
Email your submission to: haveyoursay@mornpen.vic.gov.au with the subject line ‘Coastal Villages and Neighbourhood Character Strategy’.
Or post a response to:

This is the first round of public community consultation. The community will have additional opportunities to provide thoughts and suggestions in the coming months.
