This is a performed reading of excerpts from the diary of an Australian nurse, Sister Nan Reay, who served on the Western Front in northern France during WW1. Sister Reay’s “dispatches” is a first person account connecting us directly to the gruelling hardship in the trenches and field hospitals of the frontline.Through this documentation, we recognise the personal qualities of bravery and endurance that makes this story exceptional.
The reading will be followed by wine and cheese and an opportunity to meet Geraldine for a Q & A.
