A rapt crowd heard David Marshall, the Flinders CFA Community Safety Officer, and Jeremy Little, the MPS Bushland Fire Management Officer, together with Ella Slingsby and Jo Wilton of Ambulance Victoria, covering a range of safety matters involving emergency services at the FCA AGM on Sunday 16 February 2020.

David spoke movingly of the range of emergencies dealt with by the CFA, and the impact on their members. Jeremy covered prevention of and mitigation of fire risk, and the management of bushfire on a regional level. The two ambulance officers outlined the Heart Safe training programme and the current single responder paramedic resource running out of the Flinders CFA.

The meeting also heard from Cr David Gill, who announced the purchase of the Telstra site in Barker Street by the Shire.
