Around 150 people of all ages turned out for this year’s Flinders Community Picnic near Mushroom Reef at the ocean beach. Organised by the Flinders Lions Club and the brainchild of Annie Dawson, participants were treated to live music, sand sculptures, excursion of the reef at low tide, information on local bird life and meditation before getting down to the serious business of enjoying themselves. The Flinders picnic, now in its second year, was also supported by the Flinders CFA which provided additional volunteers alongside the Flinders Lions Club; and the Flinders Community Association.
Pictured at the Flinders Picnic is Thierry Rolland from Parks Victoria explaining some of the sea-life that can be found at Mushroom Reef.
