During Easter, four FCA volunteers completed the 6km walk between Shoreham and Flinders to investigate the practicalities of a walking track between the two villages. Commencing at Shoreham Post Office, the walkers followed the boundary fence-lines to test general accessibility along the Western Port side of the Frankston-Flinders Road.
While some obstacles were encountered that would need to be overcome, the group concluded that a walking track is generally possible; and some of the vantage points along the route offered excellent views of Western Port Bay on one side; and district views on the other. The test walk was organised by FCA Committee member Alan Kirsner and the walkers included fellow FCA committee member Charles Reis together with Frances Millane, Tony Pyman and Helen Pyman.
The FCA will now consider the next steps.
